I had the amazing experience of being able to collaborate with makeup artist Joanna Keller and photographer Kristina Derrick! Our goal was to create a HOW TO for all you lovely Noircissists ! This weeks look was all about creating a trendy casual look, matched with a simple clean makeup that is appropriate for a night swinging with the ladies, or a day in the office without looking too risque!
For the hair we pulled it up high for a bun on top of the head, a clean playful look that’s easy to achieve at home. Now, onto the fun part! How to get the look!
We started the look of with a fresh face, using Makeup Forever’s HD Foundation to give Kei a flawless finish. As well as filled in her brows using a dark brown shade and an angle brush, this step is so often overlooked! But is super important, your brows frame those gorgeous eyes- don’t have a clue about structure and brows? Check out our BFF’s at Bombay Browbar, their Brow Sculptresses will put you in the right direction!
Our Model Kei is also sporting the Le Fling to give her lashes that extra POW with the cat eye that we are going to be creating with the eyeliner! Le Fling is our infamous half set, for a little less commitment but still a ton of fun. When the lashes are focused like so on the outer corners it gives a sultry elongating effect of the eye!
After applying blush (in this case we used Cargo’s Blu Ray Blush) Joanna used a sheer silver pigment as a highlight! By starting at the brow bone and creating a 3 downwards hitting your cheekbones then your jawline, you will achieve a flattering highlight effect to give your face structure!
Voila! Kei’s cheeks just POP!
For the eyes Joanna brushed a soft pink shadow (from the Stila Marrakesh pallette!) over Kei’s lid, and lined the inside of her eyes with white eyeliner! For an extra pop take a pointed Qtip and apply the either a highlight color or the shadow at the corner of your eye closest to your nose.
Finally we applied Geisha Ink to the top lid, giving it a saucey wing out on the end for a fun flirty look! The eyes are the window to the soul after all!
